“great spot for before Lincoln center! $9 happy hour is great as are the mediterranean dishes. Stick to dips for reliable happiness. If you don’t know much about mediterranean wine, let the staff guide you. They know their way around the by the glass list well Pretty space!”

“both early *and* late happy hours. Best wine list in the city—staff is sometimes ready to nerd out, sometimes aloof but if you’re appropriately nerd, you’re going to have a good time. With a group of two or three the giant cheese plate is the way to go. Inside, at the bar, is the best spot–even for date night”
“Darts, beers, and pretty good sandwiches. Solid spot in tribeca and you can pretty much always fit your group”
“Fun as hell. Staff is the kind of grumpy a dive bar needs. Crowd is appropriately drunk. Singers sound better after a few beers. (Dollar slices across the street are a bonus)”
“Prices are low for the neighborhood (but naturally…high for the rest of planet earth). The menu is massive but stick to the martini section or order a classic for the happiest after-work drinks. There is always a solid crowd even later at night which can be tough for this neighborhood. ONLY the actual bar seats are first come first serve…the host will kick you off the high tops in the bar area 🤗”
“a perpetual fave! The old school charm of a spot widely considered the ‘first fine dining restaurant’ in the US, plus a solid menu of classics that will please any crowd. I’m always delighted to see they keep a few fun craft beers on the list. The martini is always great but even better in the back bar!”
“Cheap chicken sandos, perfect tiki drinks, fun bar team, and an over-the-top setting…what more do you need?!”
“incredible view—has to be the best in downtown Newport. Drinks are great, team is great, and there is plenty of room to spread out”
“is it expensive? yes! Is it also an unmatched NYC institution?? Also yes!! Skip the cocktail menu and go for a classic if it’s your first visit”
“Chic! Oysters and crudos are the way to go food-wise”
“Best pizza in the Hudson Valley Pickle-tini never disappoints”
“Best Belgian beer list in the US Excellent food Not too pricey (Take some beers to go!)”
“Best food you’ll find in a dive bar ++ always have Shiner Boxk”
“Entire cocktail menu is great but the martini is truly memorable. The caviar garnish isn’t just for show, it’s a perfect balance with the cocktail onion and gin. Don’t skip dessert here!!”
“No better beer & oyster list in the city (anywhere?!)”
“Buzzy Argentinian spot to impress your date, or your friends, or yourself. Steaks are to die for and come with both aged and un-aged chimichurri. Cocktails are great but their somms are experts and the wine list is well priced. Ask for a pairing. The tomatoes app is an unexpected hero on the menu.”
“When you need a vibe, you can count on EO. Great to give out of town guests a feel of NYC. The cocktails are excellent, the team is even better, and the bar is always full of characters. Don’t sleep on the steak tartare xx”
